The May 16, 2023 minutes were presented and accepted as written by motion.

Treasurer’s Report

The Treasurer’s Report was presented for discussion and review. Motion and uberHubersecond to pay the bills. Motion carried.  

Old Business

1. Race Night Recap

• Internet connectivity is not working in the announcer’s booth. Rick will contact SRT to check on the router so that we don’t have any issues going forward.
• Jeff Barta attended the meeting to let us know that he has everything in place for military and first responder appreciation night.  

New Business

1. The board discussed track prep going forward. There is quite a bit of work to be done to get ready for the Memorial Day weekend. Justin will take the lead on track prep.
2. The 2023 yearbooks are ready to print. Motion and second to order the black and white copies from Lowe’s Printing and the color copies from BHG in Garrison. Motion carried.
3. A proposal was presented from Pure Powersports for the purchase of a UTV for use by the EMT rescue crew for race nights. The request would allow the EMT crew to cover the grandstands as well as the pits should the need to respond to any medical emergencies arise. This vehicle will only be used by the rescue crew. Motion and second to make the purchase. Motion carried.
4. The board discussed the purchase of a bench at the Roosevelt Zoo. This will be considered at a later date.

The May 9, 2023 minutes were presented and accepted as written by motion.

Treasurer’s Report

The Treasurer’s Report was presented for discussion and review. Motion and second to pay the bills. Motion carried.  

Old Business

1. Race Night Recap

• Races were able to be held despite the rain over the weekend. Races were over by 8:30, which was the goal.

New Business

1. Beau Simmons requested the use of an offroad vehicle during the races. This would facilitate quicker response times should an emergency arise either in the stands or race track. Kelly will reach out to Pure Power Sports to see what the cost of a UTV would be.
2. There has been a request for points sheets. Rick Huber and Brandon Beeter will provide those for race nights.
3. Tracy Summers has put in a considerable amount of time volunteering for the club. There is a proposal to present a plaque to him during race intermission at a later date.
4. Tires have been left in the pits. Bruce will remind the drivers at the pit meeting that tires are not to be left for the club to dispose of.
5. Wingless Sprints purse for 2023 has been received.
6. The club received a request from a new organization, Rebel Cheerleader, looking for fundraising opportunities. We do not currently have any need for a group at this time as we are set with volunteers.
7. There were some questions with regard volunteer duties and will be addressed on the next race night.

The May 2, 2023 minutes were presented and accepted as written by motion.

Treasurer’s Report

The Treasurer’s Report was presented for discussion and review. Motion and second to pay the bills. Motion carried.  

Old Business

1. Car Show

• The board revisited the 2024 car show scheduled for April 20-21, 2024. The board would like to hold the show and practice on the same weekend. This would put the show on Friday and Saturday, April 26 and 27 with practice on Sunday, April 28. Justin will take the lead on this.

New Business

1. Race night security is in place.
2. NDSF is asking for weekly attendance numbers and will be provided Tuesday after each race.
3. Carnations have been ordered and will be handed out to all mothers on Mother’s Day.
4. Flowers will be sent to the Root family of IMCA for the loss of a family member.
5. The extended weather forecast is showing rain on Saturday. The track conditions will be monitored since practice is scheduled prior to the race. If the conditions warrant, practice will be cancelled so that the track will be ready for race night.
6. Motion and second to rent a blade from RDO. Motion carried.

The April 25, 2023 minutes were presented and accepted as written by motion.

Treasurer’s Report

The Treasurer’s Report was presented for discussion and review. Motion and second to pay the bills. Motion carried.  

Old Business

1. Car Show

• The 2024 car show needs to be scheduled as the fairgrounds is getting booked for the month of April. The board agreed to book the car show for April 20-21, 2024. Move in day will be April 19, 2024.

2. Track Updates

• Track is coming along and will be ready for opening race day. Practice will be held 12:00-2:00, weather permitting.

New Business

1. Skid steer rental was discussed. If the rental company requires insurance, it may be a problem as a serial number is required to bind insurance and there may not be sufficient time to do so if the rental is picked up on Friday for the weekend. The other alternative would be a blanket lease insurance policy that would cover a rental and we would not be tied to a specific unit so a serial number would not be required.
2. Lock up on race nights will be done by Jeff Barta.
3. Registration for State Fair Parade has been received and the club will participate.
