Minutes: The July 22, 2025 meeting minutes were presented and motioned with second to accept as written. All in favor. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: The Treasurer’s Report was presented for discussion and review. Motion with second to approve/pay the bills. All in favor. Motion carried.
Race Weekend Recap:
- NDSF Demo Derby
- Unnecessary to sit in the pit trailer at 8am.
- NDSF Demo Derby – Sam told Holly on 8/3 that he forgot the check but would bring it to the next weekend’s races.
- Ole Olson Memorial Stock Car Race
- Issues with scoring loop was discussed. May need to consider getting an old Decoder, because that is the only thing that has changed between last year and this year. However, the scoring loop was put in on Sunday morning, but apparently there was these same issues the first half of the season.
- Complaint about the tech inspectors docking 2 spots for nose being an inch too low and they also told all the B&B chassis cars that their spring location on the rear ends were in the wrong location. Complaints from Sport Compact drivers about our tech inspectors getting talked out of teching certain components. JB Scwartz clarified that that deal was specific to them wanting to pull cam shafts, not just wanting to pull valve covers.
- The wrong call was made calling the caution on Tuchsherer when it should have been called for debris on the track.
- Justin told Holly she cannot be on radios in the pits anymore.
- Race Director Trial – Scott will not be available on 8/10 due to Papa’s Powerwheels Race that same night. Overall, everyone was happy with how Trever Haas performed.
Old Business:
- 2025 Sponsorships: Outstanding sponsorships were discussed.
- All-Stars of August $4K to Win Series
- Format decided at 7-15-2025 meeting:
- Pill redraw for the special class.
- 30 laps mods and stocks, 25 sportmods and hobbies
- 10 lap heats, even number of heat races, 12 car starts
- Redraw (heat race winners + top 4 passing points)
- 15 lap B-mains
- 24 start feature, no payout if you don’t start.
- Format changed to 40 laps.
- Redraws for Features (Holly responsible):
- Sportmods – mini door panels
- Mods – #14s
- Hobby Stocks – diecast cars
- Speed/radar sign from Vision Zero – Justin indicated he would talk to Molly
- John Gaule’s sportmod to display on 8/10 – Fan Zone, hopefully have it as a pacecar.
- Format decided at 7-15-2025 meeting:
- INEX Legends Winter Nationals & NOSA Sprints (Oct 9-11, 2025)
- Reserve pit stalls – sell pit stalls for $100/each for the weekend for Legends only. Add 5 spots in far SE corner.
- NOSA Sprints have backed out of being the support class due to too many drivers wrapped up in sugar beet harvest.
- Miscellaneous
- Awaiting payment of Heavy Hitch rented by Williston Basin.
- DCMT online tshirt sales – all have been delivered
New Business:
- Too Dark Design wondering about T-shirts at Motor Magic with percentage of total sales to the Club. Unanimous agreement for her to do this.
- Beau & Holly grilling for volunteers on 8/10 around 4-5pm.
- Discussion occurred about the content posted on the website for Meeting Minutes info.
- Super Nationals credentials were discussed. We have 2 allowed, holders cannot be racing in the event. Decided on who would be getting them occurred.
- Motion with second to give Chris Anderson 30 flex tickets to continue Fan Zone. All members in unanimous agreement.
- VISA gift card to Josh Edwardson as a thank you for all his help this year. Robby will work on getting gift cards for all other volunteers.
- Consider bringing in an entertainer or someone big for the banquet (Dueling Pianos or Ron Hornaday), or have an after party.
Next Meeting: The next board meeting will be on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 7:00pm at Staybridge Suites.
