The August 6, 2024 minutes were presented and accepted as written by motion and second. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report

The Treasurer’s Report was presented for discussion and review. Motion and second approve/pay the bills. Motion carried.

Business to Discuss 

1. A driver has been suspended for the remainder of the year and a letter confirming the suspension will be sent.
2. It was confirmed that drivers racing in two different classes are being charged per class.
3. Discussion was held to add an additional race over the weekend of September 14 & 15. The board decided to hold off and add additional races on the 2025 race schedule.

The next board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 7:00 pm at the Clarion.

The July 16, 2024 minutes were presented and accepted as written by motion and second. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report

The Treasurer’s Report was presented for discussion and review. Motion and second to approve/pay the bills. Motion carried.

Business to Discuss 

1. Discussion on redraws was held. Motion and second to use straight up with 14 or less cars and redraw for 15 or more cars. Motion carried. Heats were discussed and the board agreed that ten cars or more will have two heats.
2. Beau Simmons attended to request fire gear for volunteers. He presented two estimates and after discussion a motion and second to purchase two sets of fire gear from Grand Forks Fire Equipment was made. Motion carried.
3. Demo Derby show went well and car counts were good.
4. Teching has been lined up for the remainder of the season.
5. The August 25th race will be IMCA sanctioned.
6. Drivers will be reminded that there is no stopping on the track when the race is done.
7. Sport Compacts will be paid the Sport Mod schedule at the August 25th race.
8. Fedyks are unable to donate money this year. They would still like to put up a banner and offer souvenirs.
9. Front straight away wall will need to be repaired/replaced. Ron Huettl will take the lead on getting this done over time.
10. This year’s banquet will honor the winners and runners up with trophies and 3rd through 10th place will receive a plaque.

The June 18, 2024 minutes were presented with minor corrections and accepted as written by motion and second. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report

The Treasurer’s Report was presented for discussion and review. Motion and second to approve/pay the bills. Motion carried.

Business to Discuss 

1. A list of the memberships collected to date was presented. The list will be kept up to date as it is referenced at the election meeting to be held in October.
2. The contractors tasked with track removal/prep attended the meeting to discuss with the board how the track removal and demo derby prep will take place. The track wall will be taken down on Sunday night and the equipment in the infield will be moved starting the Monday after the mod tour.
3. New ipads were purchased as the current refurbished ipads no longer charge or hold a charge. Motion and second to sell the old ipads for $50 each. Motion carried.
4. Mod tour t-shirts will be here tomorrow. The price will be $25 each.
5. The treasurer will look into getting a second debit card for the board.
6. Championship shirts will be ordered so that they are available to sell when the races resume in August.

The July 2, 2024 minutes were presented and accepted as written by motion and second. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report

The Treasurer’s Report was presented for discussion and review. Motion and second to approve/pay the bills. Motion carried.

Business to Discuss 

1. Fast Shaft qualifier races are August 4th for stock car and August 18th for modified class. Purses will be posted for these races.
2. Purses will be adjusted for the August races in order to attract racers, given that August racing drops off.
3. Another power supply and wiring harness for the radios to have on hand as a backup have been ordered.
4. Demo derby will be taking place on Monday, July 22 at 7:00 pm. The board will be collecting pit fees and will do the payouts at the end of the show.
5. Candy for the parade will be picked up.
6. Sport Compact races on Saturday and Sunday at Motor Magic will have an additional purse.
7. World of Outlaws is interested in coming to Minot. The boards will be in contact with the group to get this event scheduled in the future.
8. Kadi Ruby attended to let the board know that one driver was voted into the Hall of Fame. She is asking the board to amend the rules for induction in other categories so that the person with the most votes can be inducted. Motion and second to amend the rule as requested. Motion carried.
   • Kadi contacted the board the next day and asked to withdraw her request to amend the rules of induction. Upon reflection, she felt that it was not her place to make the request given the HOF Board worked hard to make the nomination and voting process fair to all. The board has withdrawn its motion and approval.
9. Motion and second to purchase an 18 volt Milwaukee impact wrench to replace one that is no longer usable. Motion carried.

Next Meeting

The next board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 7:00 pm at the track. If the board is unable to get on the track on July 30th then the board will meet Wednesday, July 31 at 7:00 pm.
