MEETING MINUTES 11/18/2024

Present: Justin Medler, Scott Joern, Rick Huber, Kelly Bertsch, Robby Rosselli, & Holly Johnson. Meeting called to order at 7:02pm. 

Not Present: Wayne Johnson

Guests: None

Minutes: The November 4, 2024 meeting minutes were presented and accepted as written by Rick Huber, second by Kelly Bertsch. All in favor. Motion carried. 

Treasurer’s Report: The Treasurer’s Report was presented for discussion and review. Motion by Robby Rosselli, second by Scott Joern to approve/pay the bills. All in favor. Motion carried. 

Old Business:

  2. Raffle Car
    1. No new updates.
  3. WOO Late Models June 29, 2025
    • Looking for three $10K title sponsors OR one $30K sponsor. Or six $5000 sponsors.
    • Mods want to be the ones to race during this event.
      • Consider a registration fee to pre-register to ensure car count. 
      • Scott Joern made a motion to change to Modifieds for WOO. Nodak will pay the Sportmod purse, and they are responsible to come up with the difference for payouts. Rick Huber seconded. 4 in favor, 1 opposed. Motion carried. 
      • Board members to consider/brainstorm ideas for hospitality to show the drivers that Nodak is a premier place to race:
        1. Pressure washer 
        2. Cook outs 
        3. Bean Bag Toss
        4. Showers open for drivers and crew.
      • 50/50 Raffle during event
  4. 2025 Schedule
    • Slingshots added to Tougher Than Dirt Tour night. Added to schedule printout. Payout is not covered by the TTDT Promoter, discussion about payout occurred.

      • August 3 – Ole Olson Stockcar Memorial
      • August 10 – John Gaule Sportmod Memorial
      • August 17 – Monte Lundy Modified Memorial

  5. MPF Gift Cards & Banquet Thank Yous
  6. Minot Area Chamber EDC
    1. Application submitted 11/5. Membership fee of $500 paid. 
    2. Ribbon cutting date set for WOO.
    3. Support After Hours events

New Business:

  1. Discussion about paying cash the night of races occurred. 
  2. Lance to sponsor wristbands for 2025.
  3. Other tracks: TTDT/Slingers, Mandan SC/SL, Williston, Dickinson
  4. Tobias sent thank you letter to the club about supporting the class in 2024. 
  5. Check with Velocita on sublimated shirts for Board Members to wear to events, on race nights, when representing the Club to the public.
  6. HOF Committee is meeting on 11/25
  7. Board will meet December 17, 2024 & January 6, 2025.

Next Meeting: The next board meeting will be on December 10th at 7:00pm at the Clarion.
